Shae’m’Ori

The Shae’m’Ori are the direct acolytes of Veria among the Id’Ori people, and are considered her walking embodiment.  Their movements and actions remain shrouded in mystery and are never questioned, even by the shaemen, their more plentiful subordinates.  An average Id’Ori may spend a lifetime without seeing a Shae’m’Ori, and then two suddenly pass through in a week, heading in different directions.

A visit by a Shae’m’Ori is an exciting event for a tribe, but also an anxious one, as it can often lead to great change.  She may request certain tribes people to follow her and never return, inform a mother that her child must move to another tribe, or order an entire village to relocate.  More often, though, they simply seek respite from travel, request stories and news on local happenings, and review the notes and readings of the tribal Shaeman’s scrolls, play with the children, and depart, often without notice.
